An Evening Bringing Enfield Together

It was a beautiful evening of thanksgiving, reflection and community spirit as the Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Emma Supple, welcomed guests to her Civic Thanksgiving Service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St George Catholic Church in Enfield Town.

Hosted by Father Daniel Humphreys, the special occasion brought together people from across the borough, including Mayors from neighbouring boroughs, councillors, council officials, community leaders and representatives from local organisations.

Among the distinguished guests was Mrs Ann Cable MBE DL, Deputy Lieutenant and representative of His Majesty the King.

The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the people and organisations who contribute so much to life in Enfield.

Local Choirs Fill the Church with Music

Music played a particularly special part in the service, with beautiful performances from two local choirs.

Enfield Choral Society, a well-established part of Enfield’s musical community, delighted guests with their performance.

They were joined by One-to-One Enfield’s Choir, representing one of the Mayor’s chosen charities, bringing another lovely community connection to the occasion.

The congregation also came together to sing the much-loved hymn Jerusalem, with the service drawing to a fitting and moving close with the National Anthem, God Save the King.

A Special Thank You to Our Girl Guides and Rangers

A special mention must go to the wonderful Girl Guides and Rangers, who played an important role in welcoming guests to the service.

Proudly representing their organisations, they greeted attendees, handed out programmes and flew their flags high.

It was lovely to see young people taking such an active part in this important civic occasion, demonstrating the confidence, commitment and community spirit that guiding encourages.

Celebrating the People Who Make Enfield Special

One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was seeing people from so many different backgrounds, organisations and walks of life gathered together under one roof.

Enfield is home to an incredible variety of communities, charities, voluntary organisations and individuals who dedicate their time to making a difference.

Events like the Civic Thanksgiving Service offer an important opportunity to recognise those contributions, strengthen connections and reflect on the values that bring our borough together.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A huge thank you to Father Daniel Humphreys and everyone at Our Lady of Mount Carmel & St George Catholic Church for hosting such a welcoming service.

Thank you also to both choirs, the Girl Guides and Rangers, the organisers and everyone who helped make the evening so special.

And of course, our thanks to the Mayor of Enfield, Councillor Emma Supple, for bringing people together and continuing to champion the wonderful individuals, charities and organisations making a positive difference across our borough.

At Love Your Doorstep, we see every day just how much can be achieved when local people support one another.

Enfield is at its best when we come together.
